AMFY Partnerships Partnerships with other organizations in the community is integral to the growth and development of AMFY. AMFY currently has partnerships with the following organizations: Alberta Mentoring Partnership AMFY is a member organization of the Alberta Mentoring Partnership (AMP). The AMP is a collective of individuals, agencies, business professionals and governments committed to ensure that every Alberta child or youth who needs a caring mentor will have one. Alberta's Promise Alberta's Promise is a movement to facilitate partnerships between communities, businesses, service clubs, foundations and agencies to work together to direct more resources to benefit our children and youth. AMFY is a recognized Alberta's Promise Agency of Promise. Calgary Youth Mentoring Coalition - Through collaboration, the Calgary Youth Mentoring Coalition (CYMC) promotes, supports and provides leadership in mentoring for all young people as a way of strengthening the community. The CYMC aims to educate the community about the rewards of mentoring by providing information about mentoring opportunities available in the Calgary area. Starburst is an exciting and innovative program designed to assist young women to develop into strong and capable adult women. The program is offered by the Calgary Board of Education in collaboration with more than a dozen community based partner agencies. AMFY is working with Starburst so these girls can build key building blocks for success. Call the AMFY office for more information. YMCA Achievement Program (YMAP) - AMFY is working with YMAP to provide mentors to immigrant and minority students engaged in the YMAP Program. YMAP provides support and training opportunities for youth to make a healthy transition in adulthood. The program enriches youth through job and life skills training, work experience, summer employment and leadership development.
Calgary Chinese Community Service Association (CCCSA) - AMFY and CCCSA have partnered to recruit volunteers from the Chinese community in Calgary to promote the integration of members from the Chinese community so they can become active members of the larger Calgary community. Junior Achievement - AMFY will be partnering with Junior
Achievement to assist in promoting their Economics of Staying in School (ESIS)
program. ESIS shows students how to go far by staying right where they
are. The program encourages junior and
senior high school students to appreciate the advantages of acquiring the
attitude, knowledge and skills necessary for long term career success. This
partnership will provide an opportunity for AMFY mentors to participate in this
exciting program and training will be provided by Junior Achievement. The
partnership will also help raise awareness about AMFY within JA and among their
ESIS volunteers.
